a beautiful decay

The 100 Abandoned Houses project began in the mid 90s as a creative outlet for Detroit-born Kevin Bauman to satisfy his curiosity of this beautiful decay of a city. It might be presumptuous and arrogant even, for a non-American to say this, but Detroit to me, has always been the child prodigy who snapped. Like the mathematics-prodigy-turned-prostitute-turned-social-worker Sufiah Yusof.

And like Sufiah Yusof, I hope Detroit will rise again. Prints of 100 Abandoned Houses is available for purchase here.
