the blankanvas logo

With great honour, I bring to you, the blankanvas logo.

I am not the creator of this logo at all. In fact, I have the following people to thank:
C: For coining the first four variations of blankanvas in Chinese for consideration, and hence leading on to the birth of the fifth. You have not bloody idea how much I have missed working with you, mate.
Plurkers: For your overwhelming feedback when I asked of your feedback on the Chinese name options. Seriously, 63 responses in barely minutes? I feel like I’m running Singtel’s customer complaint hotline. Heh.
Funkbuilders: Without you, my logo would’ve looked like shit. Thank you, for not even bothering to criticise my original logo design (I am extremely logo-deficient), but rather, went off working on my logo without me even asking. You have created such a beautiful hybrid of a logo and a logotype at the same time in just half an hour. I reckon I’ll get this for my 7th tattoo.
My Wife: Thank you baby, for having coined the fifth and chosen Chinese name “??” (Kong Hua). Such ambiguity, flexibility and chicness condensed in 2 Chinese characters, oh how could you have thought poorly of your command of the language? Tsk.
For all wondering how the Chinese name “??” (Kong Hua) came about, here’s the rationale, in the author’s own words.
The desire to embrace her Oriental roots whilst taking care to avoid the faux pas of a typically literal Singaporean translation, led to the adoption of a figurative rendition of “blankanvas”: Kong Hua.
? symbolizes the Eastern philosophical concept of “Emptiness” which encourages us to perceive daily life in relation to the rest of the Universe – where Good and Bad are merely two faces of the same coin.
With every strike of a word, Pat conjures up emotions, smells, tastes, sights and sounds that are encapsulated in the images of her canvas – ?.
Her paintings are yours to interpret.
Tell me that wasn’t poetry. Tell me that wasn’t beautiful. Heh.
I’m one lucky bitch. Thank you all again.

They missed out your “N” so you missed out their “D”? =p
fayeth, the error’s all mine – my left brain doesn’t work as effectively as my right does. Oh well. Too bad. I’m not prone to details as much as I am to the big picture. Odd, that.
I had no idea Alan designed the blankanvas logo :p I love it..eye-catching, interesting, thought-provoking and realllly nice!
