band aid tape

By Pat Law™ • Aug 24th, 2009 • Category: Features, The Design Diva

I use a band-aid frequently, to conceal a hideous cyst I have currently on my right arm. Yes, you heard it right. While women encounter cysts growing by their boobs and ovaries, I have them on my arms. How peculiar.

I can’t help but feel guilty each time I replace my band-aid. The paper wrapper the band-aid comes in became absolute waste (sure, go try shedding that little thing) and I’ve always wished someone would come up with a sustainable packaging design that will ease my guilt. Amen to Broadhong, of Seoul, Korea, for doing so. I think Earle Dickson would approve, if he was still alive.

  1. I had one too, near my elbow! Did you get it checked out? I had to undergo an electro surgery operation to remove it…I had to put plasters over it everyday too, because it was so ugly.

  2. Actually Nabilah, I’ve already had two removed! I’m on with my third, can you just imagine. At the rate I’m going, I’m better off leaving the cyst there.

  3. but i think the whole point of the paper wrapper thing is to keep the band-aid sterile. isn’t it? if so, this idea will need some reworking to address that.

    just my two cents.

Say something.
