the world’s slowest sms billboard

Text to a number. Wait for 20 minutes or thereabouts. Watch a bunch of busy bees change letters so as to broadcast your text. Celebrate having the biggest mother of a text message. Propose to your girlfriend while you’re at it. Tell your boss you think he is a bastard. Promise to not whine like a woman butch again.
Thai artist Wit Pimkanchanapong presented The World’s Slowest SMS Billboard over the weekend at The Night Festival in Singapore curated by TheatreWorks’ Ong Keng Sen. We need more festivals like these in Singapore. For once, I felt culture in this country.

Gosh I wished I was there.
I really enjoy such stuff, and I feel really disappointed to have missed it.
Didn’t I tell you that it was by far my favorite piece at The Night Festival?!! It was so filled with love! I saw other messages like “Hug everyone beside you… NOW!”, “Chow chow you smelly cow” and messages like “Happy Bird-day Shuxin” came complete with the volunteers singing a birthday song. Aawwwhh… LOVE. 100 cool points to Wit Pimkanchanapong!
Agreed. We should have more of such festivals. Never too late to start though. I loved all the performances that I managed to catch that day, especially Putho, the Southeast Asian acrobatic act. Oh, and 1 of the funny “smses” that appeared that day was “Hunny, I’m pregnant”. What a scream.
