Such painful truth, the title carries. At one point of our lives, we get so preoccupied chasing our dreams, and keeping up with the Jones’, we fail to watch our steps.

We trip.

We fall.

We focus on the hurt, we dwell on the dirt clinging on to our bleeding wounds, we rage over the stone that tripped us. We fail to realise our myopia was what caused us to trip anyway. We start blaming everyone and everything but ourselves. We allow sorrow to drown us. Self pity becomes our solace. Self pity becomes our excuse.

A butcher’s daughter struck a chord in me with her ethereal dance of free flowing thoughts, dressed with such cynical innocence. Her name’s Angie Seah. Those words in the title are hers. And she has an exhibition at Night and Day from now until 19 June 2008. A must-visit for the weary soul.
