You see, when you are Ogilvy, THE institution of Advertising, you bother to invest time and money in exchange for valuable knowledge. Knowledge of which you gain and in return, share with your like minded peers who breathe the same passion for all communication efforts floating in the digital space.

I reckon The Open Room, is Ogilvy‘s best demonstration of being a world class digital agency that knows its worth well enough not to fear sharing their knowledge with its competitors. Beyond having some fella with a big title smoking through 20 slides of googled bullshit, beyond winning yada yada awards by means of scam ads that don’t meet any business objectives in the first place, The Open Room actually shows how Ogilvy walks the talk.

The Open Room was created by the people in Ogilvy PR’s 360° Digital Influence team, aimed at facilitating casual, open conversation between brands and digital media maven. They don’t just say it, they do it.

They do it with interviews such as this one with Dr. Vinton G. Cerf, the VP, Chief Internet Evangelist for Google and share very insightful keynote speeches from their Verge Digital Summit, which I strongly recommend to any Digital Media junkie.

Do you know what I really appreciate from The Open Room? The deliberate (and very sincere) lack of link back to their agency’s homepage. When you’re that good, you don’t need the self-promotion. I absolutely appreciate the lack (almost, but I understand the mandatory logo) of shameless self-promotion.

    brian and tania, the good souls of Ogilvy with very fancy job titles (I’ll like one with the word Influence innit!)…

    Its refreshing to have a brand react this quickly to any news generated by them, and I like that you did. I like how you live up to the point about conversations. Afterall, that is what brand should be about today.

    I’m 4 days late to replying you but thanks for your very generous comments on Ogilvy :) I uploaded the VERGE slides and Vinton Cerf interview videos and this has been the best compliment so far.
