thank you

Thank you.

For reading my blog.

For leaving a comment.

For emailing me to share your thoughts.

For tweeting back.

For blogging about me (yes I know because I track).

You may think little of your actions, but they mean a lot to me. The sum of me is the result of my experiences, both good and bad. blankanvas is a lifelong experience fueled by no other than your interest. I will not lie – I blog because I know you’re reading. After all, there is no need for even a whisper, if there is no one listening.

Thank you for listening. Or in this case, reading.

blankanvas turns three this month, and yet it feels like a decade has whisked by. Like many of my fellow bloggers out there, my blog is an extension of me. At the same time, my life has evolved as a result of my blog.  I would not possibly be here, if not for blankanvas.

Change is constant, like they say. I’m sure blankanvas will not be spared from progression. While blankanvas will continue to grow and evolve as I do, as God’s child (and the accidental rebel), I recognize I am in control of the changes that happen.

On that note, I present to you my promise on the changes that will never be:

1 | PROMOTING ANYTHING I DON’T BELIEVE IN
No amount of money will make me promote any brand, product and service I don’t believe in. My integrity is not for sale. Ever.

2 | DELETING COMMENTS NOT IN MY FAVOUR
For as long as my mum was not insulted nor are the comments racist, all comments will be published for public viewing.

3 | LET MY EGO GET THE BETTER OF ME
My ego is big as is. I’m not going to let it inflate and turn me into the same obnoxious asshole I’ve permanently banned from my events.

4 | GET FRIENDLY WITH YOU TO GET YOU LIKING ME
I will never give you the typical Barbie doll treatment one might encounter from a typical PR agency. You deserve better than a fake American accent going “Hi, how are you?” with a couple of air kisses. I might give your ass a friendly slap though.

5 | STOP BLOGGING
I give you my word – the day blankanvas dies will be the day I take my last breath. Don’t worry; the Virgo in me has already briefed my wife on publishing an announcement on my blog about it if that day comes.

Thank you once again. Meanwhile, check out the memories captured by Noel Yeo from blankanvas’ birthday bash at OverEasy on 27 January 2010.  For more images, click here.

Oh my! What a Ménage à trois. Kidding. Thanks for having me there, though I will continue to be your friendly neighborhood Ninja, and my tradition of no frontal photo shots! ;)

  2. Hehe I had fun buuut, you still owe me x10 favors :P

Awwwww so sweet of you Pat, we couldn't have said it better ourselves. LOL!

Thanks for inviting us to your great party and sorry we had to run off a little earlier. Congrats again on blankanvas' 3rd anniversary and will definitely be expecting more great stuff here!

  4. If there's an award for Best at Throwing Parties, Pat.

And an award for Best Mac & Cheese.

Thanks for including the blogosphere's cutest couple.

    XOXO

  5. Haha. One day Brian, I'd have your lovely mugshot plastered on my homepage.

Oh and sorry I ran off after the official proceedings – wanted to rush out the photos that night to your mailbox so that you could use them the next morning. With Social Media, immediacy rules!
    :) )

  8. Yes darling, I owe you 10 favours. But but but, it's good for the brand! Hehehe.

  9. I mean what I said! No, thanks for coming in spite of your party coinciding on the same day. Appreciate it truly. Hey, your Drinksavvy event… related to Tiger beer?

  10. Aw, thanks Hillary. Yeah, the Mac & Cheese is real Mac & Cheese eh? I absolutely adore the food at OverEasy. Ok, now I'm hungry again.

  11. Hey Pat, APB's agency reached out to me on promoting the savvy drinking cause, not fr Tiger beer per se. But yeah, I guess you can say they are related since Tiger is one of the APB brands. I didn't realise yours was a drinksavvy event too until the day before when I saw your email invite! You can catch bits of my party here: http://www.geekonomics.us/2010/01/drinking-savvy-… some of my guests came over from your party like almost 11 only to be disappointed I had no booze prepared for them :p

  12. Thanks again for the invite! And for that hilarious intro. to the peeps there.."hey guys! Here's the mom who doesn't look like a mom!"… oh yeah… hahaha! Thanks anyway… Will be keeping my eye on you… :)

  13. Hey Nic, I've escalated your feedback to the people who matter. :) Can't drink savvy if there isn't alcohol to begin with, right?

  14. No, thanks for coming! Hey.. your friend's name is Jane-Doe? Really???

  15. Nope. Thats her on air name. Her name is Preetha. She's dj-ing over at 91.3FM as Jane Doe. :)

  17. Thanks Pat! No lah, it wasn't a feedback actually: I went for the no booze option eventually coz a lot of my guests were driving and I didn't want them to get in trouble with the law since my party was only gonna start so late :)

  18. hey Pat, love your shirt!

  19. Thanks! I got that tailored in HCMC, Vietnam!

Say something.
