The nation of MINI lovers came together on 15 and 16 May at the inaugural MINIFESTO, Singapore’s very own official MINI festival. Graced by the Original Flying Finn of motorsport, legendary rally driver Rauno Aaltonen, one could feel the pulse pounding excitement, burning from the ground at the F1 Pit Building, to his heart. The experience was sheer euphoria.

Check out the heart-stopping activities that were held during the festival. I like the fact that there was an activity for everyone, regardless of age or gender or even size.

High-octane fun with hose down with the lovely car wash babes. Hell yeah.

Ride with MINI Rally Legend, Rauno Aaltonen
I’d be damned if I could drive like he can, especially at his age. His daredevil tricks were most definitely the highlight of the festival. The former 1967 Monte Carlo Rally champion is the official MINI ambassador and Traffic Safety Expert for the BMW Group.

MINI cars. The new. The rare.
Eurokars Habitat adds two specially created MINI editions for Singapore to its family of MINI models at the MINI Habitat, the MINI Stratford and MINI Cooper Loft, alongside the MINI John Cooper Works World Championship 50.

I fell so badly in love with the MINI Stratford, it hurts even til date. The name “Strateford” is the union between “street” and “ford” (a river crossing), and was originally applied to two adjacent villages. Today, Stratford is also one of the major centres of London that will be hosting the Olympic Games 2012. As such, the MINI Stratford with its adjacent blue and red or black and silver Stratford stripes extending from the bonnet to the roof and the boot, coupled with distinctive Stratford side scuttles and entry door sills symbolizes a combination of new, futuristic and eye-catching design. I’m gonna get unusually technical here, but you haven’t got a clue how much I love this baby.

Besides an improved acceleration through a new 98 hp four-cylinder engine, the MINI Stratford?s combined cycle fuel consumption further complies to the EU standard with just 6.7 litres/100km and a CO2 rating of 156 grams per kilometre.

As a result, the MINI Stratford provides a more powerful yet cleaner drive. This gorgeous looking machine is available at MINI Habitat, at about SGD101,800.00 (inclusive of COE, subjected to changes).

True to its roots, MINI drove the fantatics wild with its Go Kart races.

MINI RC Car Races
See? Told you that the festival disregards age or gender or even size. In this case, car licenses even.

MINI Showcase
Showcase of MINI Heritage, lifestyle displays and MINI accessories. Basically, dangerous stuff that will make the MINI fan go crazy and broke in under 10 seconds.

Type Bowling contests
I admit, this was pretty WTF to me, but I appreciate the light-hearted humour.

Push of War contests
Well, if you can’t drive it, push it. Trust me, this is an extremely important skill to master when your fuel tank’s at zilch.

Live music by Timbre
Because because. Because we’re 100% music too.
