Conceived by digital rockstars AKQA, this campaign promoting the upcoming movie Sherlock Holmes has left me conceptually stunned, humbled and absolutely impressed. Don’t take my word for it. Try this game out. Hire a Facebook friend to help you as Watson (or Holmes, depending on your preference) and off you go. Don’t just watch the movie. Be part of the damn movie.

Nice touch there with the partnership with Tweetdeck. The refer-a-friend tactic is sneaky but oh so witty.

I would pay top dollar for an Agency to produce such a gorgeous digital campaign that leverages on social media not for the sake of, but because of its advantages. I sure as hell won’t pay for any concept fee just because an Agency has a list of bloggers to recommend to “win some tickets” to my damn movie. I mean, how many damn movie tickets do you want to give out before bloggers themselves get bored?

Well done, AKQA. You showed the imbeciles the real art of Communication.
